Our Practice

Farm Animal Care

Aroostook Veterinary Services is a Large Animal (Farm Only) practice ever since the sale of the small animal portion of the practice in May of 2017.  AVS offers scheduled farm calls for vaccination, deworming, blood tests, radiographs, dental exams and treatment, health certificates, etc.  Currently, AVS cannot offer on-demand emergency care.  AVS maintains a large and varied inventory of medications and supplies and can also (when appropriate) provides "scripts" for medications AVS does not stock.  AVS has, in the past, provided that medications and supplies might be picked up at 32 Access Rd, but only after making such arrangements with Dr. Coville.  AVS, in 2021 established an on-line inventory and medication store for the benefit of our clients.  All active clients may access the store at avs4me.vetsfirstchoice.com and place orders directly online.

(If you are seeking dog, cat, or other pet care we would advise you to contact the office of Presque-Isle Animal Hospital of Houlton at 532-4081; or at their northern location in Presque-Isle at 764-6392.)

The Veterinary Oath

After acquiring a veterinary degree, most all veterinarians were required to pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE) and take the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) oath:

"Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine,
we solemnly swear to use our scientific knowledge and skills
for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health and welfare,
the prevention and relief of animal suffering,
the conservation of animal resources,
the promotion of public health
and the advancement of medical knowledge.

We will practice the profession conscientiously, with dignity,
and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

We accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement
of our professional knowledge and competence."

As a veterinary medical professional, Dr. Coville is dedicated to seeking to discover the root of your animal's health issues.

A Positive Experience

Dr. Coville will always focus on treating the immediate issue at hand, but doesn’t neglect additional health concerns any animal may be exhibiting.  Feel free to ask about additional concerns at any exam.
