Aroostook Veterinary Services (AVS) has been serving the population of Aroostook County since 1983.  

A Short History 

Since first opening in Houlton in early summer of 1983, the original practice steadily grew and expanded with more staff and advanced equipment added for the benefit of our patients.  We offered medications and services to both the local pet population and to the area's farm community.  We eagerly looked forward to continuing to serve the wonderful clients we had come to know over the years of service, as well as numerous new clients that joined the AVS family each year.

In serving our clients over the past 38 years, we aimed to help further educate them by providing resources that allowed pet and livestock owners to make informed decisions regarding their animal’s wellness. Our website, though basic and not expansive, is intended to serve as a veterinary health reference.  We hope everyone has found, and continues to find, it interesting and informative.  In 2017, Dr. Coville sold his small animal practice to PIAH of Houlton and continued the farm service portion of the practice on his own. 

Dr. Coville, although no longer providing any clinical pet care, will be continuing to provide direct farm call services for all AVS livestock and equine patients.  This is on a "scheduled only" basis as offering emergency care services is not an option at this time.  For livestock or equine services, please call the new message phone at 207-999-2766 to request scheduling a farm visit.  Additionally, Dr. Coville now provides case review consultation services to those owner's who seek this for either their pets or their livestock.
